I was given the assignment of creating a painting that broke the boundaries of the frame, and featured contrasting subject matter. The result is a fire breathing exhaust surrounded by fish and fish scales. I wanted to combine the messy textures of gouache with the clean lines of marker to add to the contrast of everything.
