Being that I have a passion for all things automotive, I decided to give myself the challenge of redesigning 3 of my favorite car manufacturers (Ford, Subaru, & Porsche). I wanted to redesign these in my own style while still calling back to the history of each brand, and pulling or maintaining references that I deemed necessary. For example, I felt that the Porsche logo needed to maintaining the horse image and the colors red, gold, and black. The color references are a little more obvious as they are the official colors of the German flag, but the horse reference requires a little more knowledge on the history of Porsche. Without going into too much detail, Porsche was started in Stuttgart, Germany, and the official crest for Stuttgart features a horse rearing on its hind legs. Something simple that pays homage to that small town where it all started.
